The name of this plant literally translates to "delicious monster". Monstera (monster), referring to the size of this plant when fully grown, and deliciosa (delicious) which refers to the sugary fruit the plant bears. Monstera Deliciosa fruit is said to taste like a combination of fruits and berries, most often pineapple, banana, and strawberry. This fruit gives the plant the nickname of "Fruit Salad Plant", while large holes in the leaves give it "The Swiss Cheese Plant". These lovely monsters are native to Southern Mexico and can grow upwards of 20m (66 feet) high in the wild!
