Trained by Dr. John Pilley in a memory study, Chaser would learn individual nouns had specific names. She could also learn new objects through the process of "inferential reasoning by exclusion" shown in a video with Neil Degrasse Tyson. Chaser could identify different nouns, adverbs, verbs and prepositional objects. Chaser always wore a purple collar, as purple was Dr. Pilley's favorite color.
